Whether by tradition or prejudice, over the years, gentlemen’s suits have been relegated to the sidelines, dusted off only for certain special occasion and perhaps only suitable for certain ages.

Major social and professional meetings and ceremonies of one sort or another are now no longer a reason to don a well-cut suit.

But really: is elegance only suitable for a certain age? Isn’t every day an opportunity to show off the best version of ourselves?

The key is in keeping an infallible iconic garment up-to-date to embody the latest styles of our time.

Ruben and Chema, who work at  SILBON – Claudio Coelho (Madrid), are a great example of how a quality well-designed suit can look and feel good every day, at any time – and at any age.  A workingday in a suit can be as much about comfort as it is about style.

Chema, for example, is wearing a navy-blue two piece suit from the SILBON spring collection. Its distinction lies in the superb double-breasted jacket, while the navy-hued weave guarantees success whatever the occasion, a truly safe colour which is definitely a plus for one’s daily routine.

Chema has also donned a striped sky-blue shirt with a point collar, which, thanks to easy-iron technology, is easy to use and look after, as it only needs a once-over with the iron.

Ruben has gone for a three piece gray number with a waistcoat and a whiff of sartorial nostalgia. This is one of the stellar options this season, and looks very sharp, offset by a plain white shirt with a point collar and single-button barrel cuffs.

As for footwear, we have two Oxford models on offer, brown and black, in either suede or leather with a high quality finish. Choosing your accessories is an art in itself, and key to topping off the look.

Chema has gone for a plain-coloured tie with a just a light design twist. Ruben is sporting a navy blue-and-white striped tie.

Comfortable styles and simple combinations, showing the subtle play between discreet yet flattering hues combine for sheer elegance, as displayed by Chema and Ruben.
