On the special occasion of our tenth birthday, we set out to achieve major goals and stretch our own limits.
Since the very beginning, SILBON has supported many different social causes in fields like education, childhood, health, and social inclusion. On such a pivotal date in the brand’s history, we wanted to go one step further and launch a sustainable, long-term project that will change lives.

Last September we introduced Thirumalapuram to the world. A project led by the Vicente Ferrer Foundation, which focuses on one of the most impoverished areas in rural India. Its objective is to provide safe, clean housing for 24 women and their families, helping them to deal with the aftermath of monsoon season, protecting them from dangerous animals and insects, providing them with a toilet, ventilation, and a safe roof to shelter under with their children.

Many organisations, celebrities, friends, and the entire SILBON community have come together with an enthusiasm and determination for completing this challenge.

“Together, we have made it all possible.”

In India, a country where women are subjected to much discrimination and violence, with little to no access to basic education or job opportunities, building housing that is 100% female-owned provides these women with the opportunity for a better life. Having a home of their own gives them a sense of hope, dignity, and pride.

The plan also includes the construction of a school, designed to welcome all children, regardless of their caste or background. Because education is a crucial tool for fighting inequality.

To achieve such an ambitious goal, SILBON has donated 10% of its net revenue for the month of October towards financing Thirumalapuram, as well as 100% of the profits from the sale of a special edition collection of t-shirts.

Many organisations, celebrities, friends, and the entire SILBON community have come together with an enthusiasm and determination for completing this challenge. Together, we have made it all possible.

Seville, 11 December

Pablo López, SILBON’s CEO, presented cheques to Lancy Dodem, the spokesman for FVF and the first child sponsored by the organisation, confirming that Thirumalapuram will become a reality. The event was hosted by the project’s guarantor, designer Lourdes Montes, who shared her excitement about the project with all the media gathered.

The project’s initial clean-up work has already been done, layouts have been marked, and foundation work is progressing well. Construction work is scheduled to be completed in September 2020.
